Building a Ripple Effect of Compassionate Care—and God’s Kingdom

At Grace Medical Home, we know we cannot serve every uninsured patient in Central Florida. But since our founding in 2010, we have been committed to something equally powerful: training and influencing the next generation of healthcare providers. This work is part of our calling to extend Christ’s love through healthcare and to build God’s kingdom on earth by equipping future providers to care for those in need. By giving interns firsthand experience in caring for uninsured and underserved patients, we are creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond our walls and into future practices, hospitals, and communities across the country. The impact is twofold: our interns are serving Grace patients today with the skills they are building, and they are being shaped into compassionate providers who will carry this legacy into their future careers.

Nearly 1,000 interns, pre-medical, and pre-dental students have walked through Grace’s doors since 2010. Each one has been transformed by hands-on clinical experience, meaningful patient interactions, and the opportunity to learn side-by-side with Grace’s dedicated staff and volunteers. They leave with more than skills—they carry with them a lifelong understanding of the realities faced by marginalized patients and a calling to serve with empathy, humility, and faith.
